Palestinians attack German diplomat's car

Furious students chased German ambassador to the Palestinian Authority Oliver Owcza before attacking his car, forcing the diplomat to flee a meeting of EU mission chiefs at Birzeit University in the West Bank Tuesday.

Owcza attempted to play down the incident afterwards on X, claiming that "we remain committed to constructively working with our Palestinian partners".

Germany remains one of Israel's largest military suppliers, sending over $350 million in equipment and weapons in 2023.
