Beluga whales near Russky Island in Vladivostok
In November 2019, 90 beluga whales were released from a “whale prison” in Srednyaya Bay near the Far Eastern Russian town of Nakhodka. Some of them settled off the coast of Primorye in the Amur Bay. The animals have adapted to the unfamiliar waters of the Sea of Japan and regularly interact with people passing through.
