'We are fighting off with education' - Volunteer group launches temporary school in Khan Younis amid conflict

The temporary Roya Primary Junior school opened its doors in Khan Younis camp, south of the Gaza Strip, on Saturday, following the suspension of the 2023-2024 school year amid the ongoing war in the enclave.

Current enrollment at the temporary school, spearheaded by the volunteer group 'One Body', stands at approximately 450 male and female students.

“We – teachers – are trying to rebuild what the Israeli occupation had done and what they had destroyed.” explained Raghad Al-Astal, an English teacher.
