Armenia probes wiretapping attempt on opposition candidate - Prosecutor's General

A criminal case has been opened into an attempt to wiretap the room of Bagrat Galstanyan - the sole opposition candidate to challenge PM Nikol Pashinyan - after he reported hearing the noise of someone drilling a hole in the floor to install a bug.

The Archbishop has suspended his religious duties to focus on a campaign to run for Prime Minister amidst widespread protests against Pashinyan's move to cede control of border villages to Azerbaijan.

The latest data shows 284 protesters have been detained today amidst marches in the capital Yerevan, while 273 others have already been released.
