A “Peace March” against the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine was held in Budapest.

The protesters also oppose the provision of military aid to Kiev.

The event attracted a huge crowd of tens of thousands of protesters. The organizers note that Hungarians came to demonstrate not only from the provinces, but also from abroad.

The march concluded on Margaret Island, where Prime Minister Viktor Orban addressed the crowd.

Orban has stated that Europe is heading towards war like a "train with a crazy driver" and that this must be stopped.

He emphasized the need to stop the dangerous plans of the EU and NATO, which could expand the conflict in Ukraine, and called for votes in the next European Parliament elections for parties that defend peace, not war.

Orban added that Ukraine's intent to continue hostilities will lead to its own downfall and that peace talks are needed.
