As part of the second stage of the exercises of non-strategic nuclear forces, the personnel of the missile formation of the Leningrad Military District are practicing combat training tasks of obtaining special training ammunition for the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system, equipping launch vehicles with them and covertly advancing to the designated position area for training for missile launches.

The personnel of the Navy ship crews involved in the training will equip sea-based cruise missiles with training special warheads and enter designated patrol areas.

The point of such exercises is that the 12th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (12 Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, 12 Main Directorate) is responsible for nuclear technical support in Russia. Now “regular troops” are also practicing preparations for the use of tactical nuclear weapons.
