In March, a Ukrainian intelligence officer, named Oleg, contacted a Russian military man serving on the cruiser. He offered to carry out a terrorist attack on the ship for a large reward.

The Russian officer immediately contacted the security authorities, after which the special services entered into an operational game with representatives of Kiev.

To organize a terrorist attack, the Russian military was sent components from which he was supposed to assemble an incendiary device. The curators claimed that the operation was personally conducted by the head of the GUR Budanov.
