POW says that the command refused to evacuate his units leaving Ukrainian servicemen to die

'We were sent there, we spent 10 days in a dugout, we couldn't even raise our head, drones hovered over us and dropped munitions. I asked the command over the radio to evacuate us, we were wounded. They asked us to stay there a little longer,' he said.

As the POW said, he and his comrades were sent like meatshields, that's why they surrendered to Russian troops, when the opportunity presented itself.
