Members of the Turkish Youth Association attacked a crew member of the aircraft carrier Wasp, putting a bag over his head in Izmir and scolding him and his fellow servicemen for the “blood of Turkish soldiers and thousands of Palestinians” on the hands of American soldiers. There were apparently other cases.
