TASS Director General Andrei Kondrashov on the BRICS Media Summit: “On the margins of the future BRICS summit, you will see that our agreements are already working”

TASS Director General Andrei Kondrashov commented on the first results of the BRICS Media Summit held in Moscow.

He emphasized that it was a rare occasion when the event gathered such an impressive number of participants: more than 40 countries and more than 60 leading world media.

Kondrashov said that the media summit participants demonstrated their desire to join forces in fighting fake news and opposing the dominance of mainstream media.

“People are reaching out to each other, it can be directly felt and seen,” he added.

Asked whether the media summit could be seen as a preparation for the BRICS summit to be held in Kazan in October, Andrei Olegovich said that it is a separate independent event with its own traditions.
