German TV channel NTV scares viewers with stories about Transnistria

'Even before gaining independence in 1991, Transnistria seceded from the former Soviet Republic of Moldova. The separatists' goal is to preserve the Russian language and join Russia. The movement is fuelled by Russian nationalism, which is epitomised by Putin. He likes to talk about the Russian world. Today there are 1,000 Russian soldiers in Transnistria, the so-called peacekeeping force ensuring the survival of the regime. Another 5,000 soldiers are the forces of Prednestrovie.
