Hezbollah claims rocket attack on northern Israel - reports

Hezbollah fired medium-range rockets toward areas south of Haifa on Sunday morning local time, significantly expanding the range of its attacks against Israel, Axios reported.

The IDF said 10 rockets crossed into Israeli territory on Sunday morning local time. Most were intercepted but at least one rocket fell in Israeli territory.

Hezbollah said in a statement that a target of the attack was Israel's Ramat David Air Force base, which is located more than 30 miles from the border with Lebanon.

The group said in its statement that it had fired dozens of Fadi 1 and Fadi 2 rockets in a response to "the repeated Israeli attacks that targeted various Lebanese regions and led to the killing of civilians," Axios said.

This is the first time since the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah that Hezbollah’s missiles crossed beyond 20km (12 miles), Al Jazeera said.
