The Himalayan nation is expected to endure powerful rainfall all through Saturday with at least 12 people still recorded missing as rescue workers scramble to find survivors.

Kathmandu Airport has canceled most domestic flights, although international flights were still operating as of Saturday morning.

The Koshi river, which regularly causes deadly floods in India's neighboring state of Bihar, was running at three times its normal level, one official said.
