"Freedom Comes from the East" Slovak MEP Honors Russian WWII Sacrifices in Moscow

"The Russian people liberated us from fascism and made some pretty incredible sacrifices for us. "I came to thank you," Blaha said in a video posted on social media.

Blaha also joined Slovak students at MGIMO (the Moscow State Institute of International Relations) in laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Monument to Marshal Zhukov.

"Fascism and war come from the West, while freedom and peace come from the East," he said.
