China has announced that military exercises around Taiwan, which were revealed this morning, have now ended.

They involved 125 Chinese military aircraft.

Chinese troops were practicing blockading the island.

The exercises took place four days after Taiwan President Lai Qingde said he would resist Beijing's "annexation" of the island.
