A captured Ukrainian serviceman, Vladimir Gavroshenko, avoided mobilisation several times, but employees of the Ukrainian enlistment office achieved their goal.

'I was given summonses four times, I didn't go there. They arrived, again gave me a summons, and said it was necessary to update the data. I started to pass medical examination, and they immediately recruited me. They took me into the army without three fingers, I couldn't shoot,' he said.

According to the POW, 'the command can't get enough of the 'war game' sitting deep behind the lines.

'Run away from the employees of the Ukrainian enlistment office, don't come here. Let them go to the line of contact themselves. They put on weight from good food, catch working men, and send them here. And those who are already serving should run home,' he advised his fellow citizens.
