Preliminary data from the Central Election Commission indicates a majority for the ruling Georgian Dream party - whose supporters are on the streets of Tbilisi celebrating (video) - following a 58.94% voter turnout by 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT).

The Central Election Commission has promised to announce preliminary results by 22:00 (19:00 GMT).
