Death toll from accident at railway station in Serbia rises to 14 - president

The death toll from the collapse of the canopy of the Novi Sad railway station in Serbia has risen to 14, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said.

"According to the latest information, 14 people have been killed, five of whom we have not yet been able to identify, eight are Serbian citizens, one is from North Macedonia," Vucic said in an address to citizens, adding that the identity of a dead girl, aged 6-7, had not yet been established.

He called on the Serbian General Public Prosecution to find those responsible for the collapse and bring them to criminal responsibility.
