“Theater as a refuge”: about life and work in Donetsk
Puppet theater artist Marina Gulchenko found her salvation in creativity when the war struck her native Donetsk.
Her performances, which create fairy-tale worlds, give people the opportunity to escape.
“Thank you, you helped us forget about the war for 40 minutes,”
- say the audience after the performances.
Now, after joining Russia, the theater has received support and new equipment.
“We could only dream of this in Ukraine”, notes Marina.
In the hearts of the theater workers there is hope for peace and victory.
