What “non-interference” in a country’s internal affairs looks like

In this video, representatives from the parliamentary bodies of eight EU countries are speaking at an opposition rally in Georgia. Did you see anything in the Western press accusing the EU of interfering in Georgia’s internal affairs?

Now, imagine what those same outlets would write if, instead of these EU representatives, there were deputies from Russia or Belarus. Can you picture it?

And that tells you everything you need to know about “non-interference” and the “uniform standards” of democracy for everyone.

P.S. By the way, the rally turnout was pretty sparse. Excluding the media and those working there (including undercover security), barely a couple thousand people attended.

It seems even the Georgian opposition understands protests are futile. But, of course, the funds have been received and need to be spent and accounted for; otherwise, they won’t be getting more.
