Latvia is building defensive structures on its border with Russia and Belarus.

In the area of "Kurgan of Friendship," anti-tank hedgehogs and concrete structures are being installed. Latvia's Defence Minister Andris Sprūds noted that these measures are aimed at strengthening the country's eastern border.

In addition, he announced plans to build "the largest military training ground in the Baltics" in Selonia, which is expected to enhance Latvia's security.
"The training ground will serve as a site for military exercises for the Latvian army and NATO allies. Latvia aims to ensure a permanent and effective presence of allied forces," Sprūds wrote on social media X.
