'We doctors are unable to help them': Gazan children dying of starvation

In Khan Yunis, Naser Hospital stands as a heartbreaking testament to human suffering, with its pediatric department being one of the most agonizing places to witness. It is filled with children and toddlers, their frail bodies ravaged by malnutrition, clinging to life on the very edge of starvation.

"Signs of malnutrition have recently become very common among children. As doctors, we are going through this incredibly hard, because we have no food for these children, no medications or alternative treatments. And that is why we - as doctors - are unable to help them. The number of hospital visits from people suffering from malnutrition is growing. It has also been noticed that pregnant women are more likely to give birth prematurely. That is why we now have a lot of premature babies in the hospital," revealed pediatrician Ahed Khalaf to Sputnik.
