Similar events have been organized in Germany for several years. Elderly people write their wishes on cards, and any sympathetic citizen can "become Santa Claus" and buy gifts for them. As a result, Germans wish for coupons for groceries and essential items – socks, gloves, shower gel, or slippers.

"Do people deserve this? You look forward to retirement all your life, and then, at 78, you wish for food," the author of the video says.
