Fierce winds drive massive blaze at Baltimore green initiative facility

The ‘Camp Small’ wood waste collection yard is ablaze at Camp Small in Baltimore's Woodberry neighborhood.

The fire ignited in a storage area with 30-foot-high stacks of trees and logs, and could burn well into Friday, according to Fire Chief James Wallace.

Ironically, Camp Small is operated by the city's Department of Recreation and Parks as part of its zero-waste initiative.
