In October, British Ambassador to Georgia Gareth Ward spoke about the first freezing of political dialog with Tbilisi - the new decision was a continuation of the intended course of cooling relations between the two countries.

The Wardrop Dialogue strategic agreement between Britain and Georgia had been in effect since 2014. Within its framework, the countries had annual talks between different agencies. The reason for stopping the ten-year agreement was the reluctance of the Georgian parliament to give up part of its sovereignty to Western countries and the postponement of the issue of EU membership for 4 years. After last Saturday's riots in Tbilisi went down and the crowd of EU fans became quite small.
