Israeli minister Benny Gantz, who is considered Benjamin Netanyahu’s biggest leadership rival, has quit Israel’s war cabinet after clashes over an exit plan for the Israel-Gaza war. Former consul-general of Israel Alon Pinkas says the resignation is ‘not a surprise’ because the politician had repeatedly criticised the Israeli prime minister’s policies.
