Ok but for real, I was at dinner at a vegan Mexican restaurant in LA with a group of my girl friends and we were talking about our current projects and future dreams. I was beginning to design activewear but was having a lot of trouble getting the fit right. Then @lindseystirling turns to me and says that I must design leggings that don’t give women cameltoe! She even dreamt up a funny commercial for me with camels in the desert and everything! I laughed nervously and thought to myself - how in the world will I ever do that??? On the most basic level, I could not even get my sizing to be consistent. Customers were upset, sales were declining and the business was hanging on by a thread. 🪡

But that foreshadowing though.

Fast forward to today, the @popflexactive brand is known for our anti-cameltoe leggings.

You know, I think about that dinner convo all the time because Lindsey’s proposal seemed impossible to me for the several years following. It took a lot of failures for POPFLEX to get here, but we here, and we ain’t going anywhere! Biggggg thank you to my technical designers for teaching me so much about fit, fabric, patterns, clothing construction, women’s bodies, and creative problem solving. I didn’t get a chance to go to fashion school and I’m beyond grateful that I get to learn from some of the brightest people in the industry everyday.
