We decided to perform and record Popper’s Elfentanz opus 39 (Dance of the Elves), one of the most virtuosic and exciting encore written for cello, but this time in a very personal arrangement for clarinets, glockenspiel and… TRIANGLE of course!
David Popper was a famous Bohemian cellist and prolific composer (1843-1913), he made an incredible career as a virtuoso cellist, a chamber musician (he played for Brahms himself with the Budapest quartet), a cello and composition teacher, writing all type of repertoire and notably some instructional pieces as the incredible cello studies (I may record a few in the future 😇
