Greek firefighters on alert after 71 wildfires reported

Crete saw the wildest of the blazes that sprang up in just 12 hours on Saturday, where authorities say they have contained the fire for now after evacuating numerous villages.

Around 150 firefighters battled the flames on the ground with the help of three helicopters, but emergency teams have been kept on high alert with high winds expected over the coming days after Greece's warmest winter on record.
